FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division hosted a Wide Format Inkjet Tech Summit at the Chicago Technology Center, giving attendees the opportunity to experience inkjet innovations and wide format print applications.
The three day event took place in both downtown Chicago and Hanover Park, IL, where Fujifilm’s expanded Technology Center is located. This unique events gave guests the opportunity to have an in depth look at Wide Format solutions and innovations, while gaining insights and knowledge from industry experts and business owners.
Attendees took the opportunity to submerge themselves in wide format printing with insights from Steve Urmano of InfoTrends, Steve Bennett of Esko North America and John Mills of Inca Digital. Additional education regarding Fujifilm as a global innovator, Fujfilm’s inkjet solutions, as well as a Wide Format Workflow presentation which discussed Colorgate and Caldera as RIPS and color management tools. An interactive User Panel featured business owners who have successfully made the decision to move to wide format printing, and guests were able to hear the opportunities and solutions that they were presented with along the way.
Guests kicked back and relaxed with dinner and brewery tours at the Revolution Brewing Brewpub in Chicago. Located in Logan Square, the brewpub is a welcoming destination for great craft beer. Their barrel wood walls and benches made from 100-year old beams salvaged during construction make their space warm and inviting, and the extensive list of beers on tap are brewed on location. And Revolution Brewing puts as much passion onto their plates as they do into their beers.
Another highlight of the Tech Summit were live demonstrations of all the digital offerings at the expanded Fujifilm Technology Center. Attendees saw various applications possible on the Acuity Select, Acuity Select HS and Acuity F. The Acuity series is a series of high speed flatbed inkjet presses, delivering market-leading image quality, performance and reliability. The Acuity series is ideal for graphic display, POP, sign shops, commercial photo labs and offset printers. Also featured as part of the Acuity live demonstration was Uvijet KV Ink, which was developed for use in thermoforming.
Additionally, attendees experienced the versatile Acuity LED 1600, a wide format inkjet press featuring LED curing with optimized fast-curing UV-LED Uvijet ink. The Acuity LED 1600 features eight colors, including white and clear ink, for creating special effects for signs, graphic displays, as well as packaging and label applications.
The versatile Uvistar, a grand format hybrid UV printer from Fujifilm, includes both 3.5 and 5 meter printers that can handle a wide range of media whether they be rigid or flexible, back-lit or block-out, lightweight or heavyweight substrates. Attendees saw a wide variety of options that make the Uvistar flexible and robust to help grow your business and expand application offerings.
Tech Summit guests also saw the powerful production capabilities of the Inca Onset series of printers, the ultimate printing machines in productivity, profitability and print quality. Attendees were able to observe and learn about the throughput capabilities of the Onset models, Inca’s flexible automation system, and varying satin to gloss finish, among all of the other opportunities presented by the Onset series. They saw first hand how the precision motion and control systems enable the Onset to redefine the quality and consistency for which Inca equipment has become renowned.
